Josh Allen leads Bills past Steelers in AFC wild-card game (full coverage)

The Buffalo Bills advanced to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Monday after taking down the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-17, at Highmark Stadium.ย 

It was just a one-score game late in the fourth quarter, but Khalil Shakirโ€™s 17-yard run and catch with 6:27 remaining gave the Bills breathing room and an eventual win.ย 

Josh Allen completed 21-of-30 passes for 203 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers. He also carried the ball eight times for 74 yards, including a 52-yard run, the longest run by a Bill in a playoff game. ย 

Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox hauled in first-quarter touchdowns, while Stefon Diggs led the team in catches with seven for 52 yards.ย

Despite the win, the Bills defense took more hits as Terrel Bernard (ankle), Taron Johnson (head), Christian Benford (knee), and Baylon Spector (back) all left the game with injuries and did not return. Bernard was taken off the field on a cart and sent to the X-ray room. In addition to that, punter Sam Martin (hamstring) left the game but did return.

Kaiir Elam had an endzone interception in his first game since October. Greg Rousseau tallied his first playoff sack, while AJ Klein led the defense in tackles with seven.

The Bills will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round on Sunday, January 21, at 6:30 p.m.
