New York (27-13-2) is looking to reestablish a streak when they host Seattle (19-15-9). They beat the Capitals 2-1 when they returned home on Sunday, and snapped a three-game skid in the process. Now the Rangers have a chance to capitalize on home ice advantage before heading back on the road for the next four straight games.
Alexis Lafreniere and Artemi Panarin each found the net for New York in the first period on Sunday. After that, it was all down to star goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin, who saved 24 of 25 shots including seven from the Capitals’ T. J. Oshie.
