New Dorp resident tapped as guest deejay on Sirius XM: Tune in this week!

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you tune in to Sirius XM over the next week and think you recognize a familiar voice, you’re right on target!

New Dorp resident Tom Tyburczy will guest deejay on a radio show called “My Nifty ‘50s” on ‘50s Gold Channel 72.

Check him out on Friday Jan. 19 at 7 p.m., Saturday Jan. 20 at 10 a.m., Sunday Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. and Wednesday Jan. 24 at 11 p.m.

Aside from doubling their original record sales since 1958, the group has received the Million-Airs Award for “Little Star” airing one million times on the radio. Their song has been immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, was featured in numerous movies, and in HBO’s blockbuster series, “The Sopranos.”

Tyburczny will also feature “Hush a Bye,” sung by Al Contrera and The Mystics, the record released in 1959 that would spend 16 weeks on Billboard Hot…
