Police are investigating the death of a baby found in a Brooklyn apartment, apparently suffering burns from a heating furnace.
Officers found the 11-month-old boy around 6 a.m. Friday after responding to a 911 call from an apartment building on East 14th Street in Midwood, according to the NYPD.
He was unconscious and unresponsive in a bedroom, with burns from what police said was a furnace leaking steam inside the room.
First responders took him to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.
Police made no arrests as of Friday morning, and it was unclear if the boyโs parents were home at the time of the incident.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
