The Romulus Central School District is set to hold a crucial board meeting on Tuesday (Jan. 23) at 6:30 p.m., amidst rising concerns among parents and teachers. The community is rallying for change with allegations of intimidation and retaliation within the district involving administrators and union representatives.
The meeting is anticipated to be a platform for addressing these issues.
Dr. Christopher Ryan, representing a group of concerned parents in the district, issued a statement titled “Unity in the Community.” He urges the Romulus Board of Education to foster unification, fair treatment, and a safe working environment for all staff and teachers. The statement emphasizes the need for transparency and action.
“Each member of this Board has taken an Oath to be a representative of your community and a leader of your district. You are stewards of both your district’s children and its tax dollars and you are an advocate for all students, public education, and an educated public,” Ryan said. “We respectfully request that you govern with an open mind and realize that we the public, your staff, and the children, rely on you as our elected officials.”
The statement highlights the community’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of the children, asserting that the best learning environment requires unity among the administration, teachers, staff, and union representatives.
“The well-being and safety of our children is of the utmost importance, and to achieve the best learning environment for the children, we must have unity among our administration, teachers, staff, and union representatives. We will not stop until there is Unity within the walls at RCS,” Ryan concluded.
