Bronx shooting leaves man in critical condition, police searching for suspect

Police were searching Monday for a suspect who allegedly shot a 31-year-old man in the Bronx late Sunday night, leaving him in critical condition.

The NYPD said the man, whom the department did not identify, was shot in the chest around 10:25 p.m. Sunday at 1356 Walton Ave. in a residential part of the boroughโ€™s Mount Eden neighborhood.

He was escorted to Lincoln Medical Center in Mott Haven and remains in critical condition, according to police.

No arrests have been made in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

Slashing in Hellโ€™s Kitchen

Police also said that around 10:36 p.m. Sunday, a 26-year-old man was slashed in the stomach with a sharp object at 704 9th Ave. in Hellโ€™s Kitchen, Manhattan.

The suspect was described as a dark-haired man who was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, according to the NYPD. Police said he fled on foot after the alleged slashing.

The victim, who was also not identified by police, was transported to Bellevue Hospital in Kips Bay, where he is in stable condition.
