Sheriff Brian Schenck reports the arrest of an Auburn man after an alleged rake attack in Fleming.
Tyresse L. Smith, 23, of Auburn, was arrested after an investigation into an assault that happened in December. Deputies were dispatched to Silver Street Road, where a victim said they were attacked by a man with a metal rake after a verbal dispute. The assailant had fled before law enforcement arrived, and fortunately, the victim did not require medical attention.
The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Smith, who has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a felony, as well as menacing. He was taken into custody this week without incident.
Smith was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, with a future court appearance scheduled in the Town of Fleming.
