NYPD: Man and woman sought for questioning in connection to alleged violent home invasion robbery in Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals sought for questioning in connection to a home invasion robbery in Stapleton.

It was reported to police that on Monday, Jan. 22, at around 2:45 p.m., two unknown individuals allegedly entered a residence in the vicinity of Hygeia Place and Boyd Street by forcing open the front door.

Once inside, the individuals allegedly began punching the victim, a 23-year-old woman who was inside the home with her son, police said.

The victim was allegedly stabbed in the leg by one of the individuals as money, a cellphone, a social security card, a wallet and an EBT card were allegedly removed from the home.

The individuals then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton in stable condition, police said.

The first individual is described as a male approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a black ski mask.

The second individual is described as a female with long braids and a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a black sweater, black sweatpants and black and white sneakers.

The incident comes in the wake of an alarming trend of home invasion robberies that have occurred throughout Staten Island neighborhoods over the last several months.
