Central Hudson to hold customer one-on-one sessions to discuss their concerns

POUGHKEEPSIE – Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation announced it will hold the first of two customer open houses this year in its Kingston office on Thursday, February 15 and in its Newburgh District Office on Wednesday, March 6.

The sessions will be by appointment only and customers will be provided a time slot to meet with a customer service representative who will walk each customer through their account in a one-on-one setting to address any questions or concerns.

“Rebuilding trust in our communities will take time and it will happen one customer at a time,” Central Hudson Senior Vice President of Customer Services Anthony Campagiorni said. “We believe that these in-person events, along with our transition to monthly meter reading, which is already underway, are vital to rebuilding that trust.”

The company says that since December 2022, it has worked to increase its overall accessibility to the communities it serves by inviting more than 100,000 customers to 10 different open house-style events throughout the service area, including two previous events in Kingston and Newburgh.

The Utility has also partnered with several state and local elected officials to assist hundreds of concerned customers at events held in Dutchess, Greene, Orange and Ulster counties.

“Based on the feedback received from customers and elected officials like Congressman Pat Ryan and State Senator Michelle Hinchey, some customers may not be fully satisfied and still have lingering concerns regarding their accounts,” Campagiorni said. “We will be conducting direct outreach to these customers to ensure they have priority in meeting with us at these open houses so we can ensure proper resolution.”

The Kingston session will be held at Central Hudson’s district office located at 2001 Ulster Avenue in Lake Katrine from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Customers will be contacted via email with an invitation to set up an appointment.
