KINGSTON – A Schenectady man pled guilty in Ulster County Court on Friday to murder in connection with the shooting death of a Kingston man.
Nyqwuan Monroe, 25, was scheduled for pretrial hearings when he entered the plea.
Monroe, a convicted felon, traveled to the City of Kingston while in possession of a loaded gun.
While in Kingston, Monroe and two co-defendants entered the home of Dominique Green with Monroe shooting and killing him. Monroe then gave the weapon to one of his defendants to dispose but it was later recovered.
DNA evidence recovered from the gun and a bullet inside matched Monroe’s.
After the murder, all three men returned to Schenectady, but were arrested the following day by Kingston City and State Police.
When sentenced in March, Monroe faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
