What could pair better with a (fictional) movie about the Buffalo Bills making it all the way to the Super Bowl than a classic beef on weck?
“Unbillievable! The Movie” – a locally made comedy about three generations of Buffalo Bills fans gathering to watch their team try to win it all – is playing this week at Regal Cinemas theaters in Western New York.
“At this point, the fan base is as interesting as the team, if not more interesting,” said co-director Scott Rubin.
And those who bring their movie ticket to Charlie the Butcher on Wehrle Drive will get a free roast beef sandwich on a kummelweck roll.
The movie was directed by Buffalo natives and lifelong Bills fans Scott Rubin and J. Garrett Vorreuter. Rubin also stars as Danny Rubinski, the die-hard Bills fan who hosts a Super Bowl watch party for his family at his Buffalo home.
The movie premiered in December at the North Park Theater on Hertel Avenue.
“Unbillievable! The Movie” was filmed entirely in Buffalo, mostly at Rubin’s house, in April and May. Scenes were also shot at the former Rockpile (now Johnnie B. Wiley Sports Pavilion), Mike’s Lounge on the East Side and the Buffalo History Museum.
