Police were looking on Monday for a man who allegedly snatched multiple pairs of pricey headphones from strangers in Times Square over the past month.
According to the NYPD, the man approached his first victim near Broadway and West 44th Street just before 8 p.m. on Dec. 22 and grabbed a pair of Apple AirPods Max off the head of a 26-year-old man. Police said the suspect then ran east on West 44th Street.
A month later, he allegedly stole the same kind of headphones from a 43-year-old woman around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 near 3 Times Square and fled south on 8th Avenue, according to officials.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Apple sells over-the-head AirPods Max for roughly $550. Police are investigating the alleged thefts as a grand larceny pattern where the value of stolen goods exceeds $1,000.
NYPD officials said the suspect had a medium build and light-colored hair, and that he was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
