Crash on Staten Island Expressway prompts NYPD response, extensive delays

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A crash on the Staten Island Expressway heading to New Jersey prompted an emergency response Monday afternoon.

Traffic cameras in the area showed the NYPD and a tow truck on the scene on the ramp leading from the Staten Island Expressway to the West Shore Expressway.

According to emergency radio transmissions, an overturned vehicle was reported at that location.

There were extensive delays on the expressway heading toward New Jersey as a result.
