Syracuse’s second-half comeback falls short at Boston College (full coverage)

The Syracuse Orange began a two-game road trip on Tuesday night, and it did not start on the right note, falling 80-75 to Boston College. With the loss, the Orange dropped to 14-7 on the season and 5-5 in the conference.

Syracuse trailed by seven at halftime after Boston College closed the first half on a 14-2 run and shot 58%. The deficit reached 13 with 18 minutes remaining in the contest, but the Orange didn’t go away quietly as they cut it to four with 11 minutes to go before running out of gas and falling short.

Three players finished in double figures for Syracuse. Judah Mintz and JJ Starling led the way with 18 points each, while Maliq Brown added 15.

This was Syracuse’s first loss to Boston College since February 28, 2018. They had won 11 consecutive matchups.
