A truck transporting animals to a circus burst into flames on an Indiana highway early Saturday, the Associated Press reported.
The animals, many of which were found grazing along the highway, were able to be corralled and rescued by police, the report said
Five zebras, four camels and a miniature horse were removed from the burning trailer, the report said.
Two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation at an area hospital and released, while none the animals were injured, the report said.
The truck driver, a 57-year-old Florida man, was not injured. Several lanes of I-69 were closed until the animals were removed aboard another truck, the report said.
