Report: From ‘Beyonsleigh’ to ‘Taylor Drift,’ Minnesota holds annual contest to name fleet of snowplows

Snowplows are a popular, yet necessary tool in the fight against winter, especially in places like Minnesota. That’s why every year people can vote on what to name the large machines.

Minnesotans started naming their 800 plows in 2020, and the winner for this year’s “Name a Snowplow” contest will be announced next week, according to the Associated Press.

Some of this year’s 49 finalists include: “Beyonsleigh,” “Taylor Drift” and “Aaron Brrrr, Sir,” the report said.

“Plowy McPlowFace,” “Darth Blader,” “Blizzard of Oz,” “Scoop Dogg” and “Han Snolo,” have been some of the names from the last several years. “F. Salt Fitzgerald” and “The Truck Formerly Known as Plow” celebrate famous Minnesotans F. Scott Fitzgerald and Prince, respectively, the report said.

You don’t need to be a Minnesota resident to participate, the report said.
