STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 23-year-old Staten Island man has been identified as the rider of an e-bike who was killed in a collision with a luxury vehicle in Manhattan in December.
The fatal crash unfolded around 10:05 a.m. on Park Avenue South and East 27th Street in Kips Bay, according to a statement from the NYPD.
Emergency responders found Olanrewaju Fadamiro of West Brighton with severe body trauma, police said. He was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The 2014 Lexus sedan was being operated by a 43-year-old male who was traveling northbound on Park Avenue South, the NYPD said.
According to authorities, the motorist was attempting to make a left turn onto East 27th Street when he collided with Fadamiro.
The West Brighton resident was on an e-bike with pedals, traveling southbound on Park Avenue South when he was struck.
Police say the operator of the Lexus remained on scene.
There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
