Fire under investigation at Cornell

Early Wednesday morning, the Cornell University Police Department (CUPD) responded to a fire alarm at Flora Rose House, located on the universityโ€™s west campus. The incident occurred at 3:45 a.m., leading officers to discover and extinguish an active fire in the recycling room of the buildingโ€™s basement level. This event adds to a series of fires reported across residential buildings on Cornellโ€™s campus, including incidents in Donlon Hall and Ganฤ™dagวซ: Hall last year.

The Cornell Police have yet to identify any suspects related to the fire at Flora Rose House or the previous fire incidents on campus. These incidents are currently under thorough investigation by both the CUPD and the Cornell University Fire Marshalโ€™s office. The series of fires has raised concerns about safety among the campus community.
