Eater New York just released its list of New York City’s ‘Most Iconic Dishes.’ The bagel and lox at Russ & Daughters made the list, along with Charles Pan-Fried Chicken, a plain slice at Joe’s Pizza and the hot dogs at Gray’s Papaya.

To highlight a few of the other iconic dishes on their list, we turn things over to the food writers with Eater New York:

Robert Sietsema talks about pastrami on rye at Katz’s Deli

Emma Orlow takes on pierogi at Veselka

Luke Fortney tackles al pastor tacos at Los Tacos No. 1

and Melissa McCart celebrates Manhattan clam chowder at Grand Central Oyster Bar

Is there a dish you think should be on the list? Leave us a comment here or follow WNYC on Instagram for a chance to share with us and our followers this week.
