Seneca County duo arrested for theft and drug possession

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson recently announced the arrest of Matthew R. Garneau, 23, from Seneca Falls, and Brianna Velez, 28, from Waterloo, on charges of Petit Larceny and drug possession on February 2. The arrest followed an incident at a Tyre town business where both individuals allegedly stole merchandise and fled, leading to their capture in Seneca Falls.

During the vehicle stop, deputies discovered suspected Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in Garneau’s vehicle. Both suspects were taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for processing. They received appearance tickets for Petit Larceny to appear in Tyre Town Court on February 14 and for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in Seneca Falls Town Court on February 9.
