Body discovered in Upstate NY river; police investigating

Police are investigating after a body was found in an Upstate New York river.

WHEC reports a pedestrian walking across the Andrews Street bridge in Rochester, N.Y., called 911 after seeing a body in the Genesee River around 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The Rochester Police Department and Rochester Fire Department responded to the scene and recovered the body from the river.

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, the body has not been identified. The Monroe County Medical Examinerโ€™s Office will determine the cause of death and the identity of the person.

An investigating is ongoing. No other details were released.
