Car overturns in Dongan Hills crash Tuesday night

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A car flipped onto its side on a street in Dongan Hills Tuesday night.

Police responded to report of a motor vehicle crash on the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue around 8:40 p.m., according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

A white Volkswagen Jetta SE could seen laying on its driver’s side with all of its interior airbags deployed and debris scattered throughout the street.

No further information is available, but the driver refused medical attention at the scene and was able to exit the vehicle on his own, the spokesman said.
