On February 6 deputies responded to a domestic incident report at an address on State Route 104 in the town of Sterling.
Ashlie M. Britton was found to have physically assaulted a close family member during an altercation, causing the victim to fear for their safety.
Britton was charged with third-degree menacing, a class B misdemeanor.
Following the arrest Britton was processed and taken to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim by the arraigning judge. Britton was released on her own recognizance during the CAP Arraignment and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sterling Court at a future date to address the charges.
