Motorcyclist suffers critical injuries after being struck by car on busy Staten Island street

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries after being struck by a car in Charleston Tuesday night.

Police responded to a 911 call at around 6 p.m. to Veterans Road West between Arthur Kill Road and North Bridge Street.

The man was transported by with critical injuries to his legs to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said.

The driver of the automobile remained on the scene, the spokeswoman said.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
