Syracuse man sentenced to 15 years for stashing cocaine, gun in car

Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse man was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison for stashing cocaine and a gun in his Honda Accord, prosecutors said.

James Mack, 40, of Syracuse, was arrested in February 2020 after Syracuse police found a hidden compartment in his car’s dashboard, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York said.

Police found 400 grams of cocaine, more than 100 grams of crack cocaine and a loaded revolver, prosecutors said. They also found small glassine envelopes and digital scales.

He was sentenced on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
