The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:58 p.m. on Thursday for heavy snow until 8 p.m. for Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene and Columbia counties.
“A band of moderate to heavy snow is moving eastward and will be impacting the Schoharie Valley, Helderbergs, northeastern Catskills, Capital Region and northern Taconics through 8 p.m. Snow will reduce visibility under one half mile at times and will quickly accumulate up to an inch or two. If traveling this evening, be prepared for slippery conditions, especially on any untreated surfaces and be prepared for wintry conditions,” says the weather service.
Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
