Syracuse, N.Y. – Graduate student guard Kaiyem Cleary (Manchester, England/Redemption Christian Academy (NY)/Florida Southern/Florida Southwestern/Ball State) and freshman guard AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) each scored four points in overtime to lead the Le Moyne College men’s basketball team to a 69-64 overtime victory over Central Connecticut State University on Thursday night in Northeast Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
With the victory, the Dolphins are in a four-way tie for third place in the NEC standings and clinched a berth in the NEC Tournament.
Cleary finished the game with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while adding two assists and two blocks. Dancler went 8-for-8 from the foul line en route to 13 points to go with three assists, two of the team’s three steals and two rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench, his highest total against a Division I team. Graduate student forward Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Siena/Bryant) tallied 15 points and seven rebounds.
Kellen Amos led the Blue Devils in the loss with a career-high 26 points, while adding five rebounds. Tre Breland registered a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Le Moyne (11-14, 6-5 NEC) remains home to take on Stonehill College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The game will air on the YES Network and ESPN+.
