On Thursday, the New York Independent Redistricting Commission voted to approve new maps for all of the state’s 26 congressional districts. In Central New York, the new plan for the 22nd District, currently represented by Republican Brandon Williams, will make it harder for him to win reelection in November. It’s a complex issue with many moving parts, so I asked Mark Weiner, longtime Washington, D.C. reporter for Syracuse.com and The Post-Standard, to help break it down for our readers.
