Mayor Eric Adams announced the appointment of four new judges across New York City courts on Friday. They included the appointment of Hon. Rantideva Singh, a former member of the Kings County Surrogateโs Court, to the Family Court bench.

โThe cityโs judiciary plays an essential role in ensuring our justice system is fair and effective,โ said City Hall Chief Counsel Lisa Zornberg. โWe thank these talented and dedicated judges for their service.โ
Judge Rantideva Singh brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at the Kings County Surrogateโs Court, among other significant legal positions. Singh, a former NYPD officer, has navigated a diverse legal path, from roles in real estate and document review to significant stints in public service, including as an agency attorney supervisor for the NYC Department of Homeless Services, and later, the Administration for Childrenโs Services.
His career also includes serving as an administrative law judge for both the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the U.S. Department of Justiceโs Executive Office for Immigration Review. Prior to his latest appointment, Singh was a court attorney referee in Surrogateโs Court, Kings County.
Mayor Adams also appointed Judge Michael Liddie to Family Court. His background includes directing educational programs at Rikers Island and providing senior policy advisement within the NYC…
