STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The coming stretch of days will see temperatures dip as low as 23 and as high as 61, according to various forecasts.
This past week saw highs in the upper 30s and low 40s, with temperatures peaking at 47 degrees on Friday, according to the Advance/SILive.com weather station. While the temperature for Staten Island sat at 42 degrees around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, as reported by the station, temperatures are expected tp drop off going into the evening.
Saturday will take a chilly turn, with the nightโs low expected to dip down to 23 degrees, as noted by AccuWeather.
Looking to Sunday, the seasonable conditions seem rather favorable, thanks in part to the sunny to party cloudy conditions. AccuWeather reported that the dayโs high will sit at 40, with the low not too far off at 33. However, the National Weather Service (NWS) noted that the high of 40 will feel more like something between 20 and 30, thanks to wind chill.
In examining data between 1991 and 2020, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administrationโs online weather data for Central Park noted the maximum average temperature for this week typically sits at 44 or 45 degrees, while the average temperature clocks in at 38 or 39 degrees.
MILD DAYS AHEAD
Following a brisk Sunday, temperatures will shoot up into the 50s, kicking of a mild stretch of days that will characterize the first half of the week, according to the forecast.
Mondayโs high will sit at 54, with a low of 41; the uneventful day will feature partly sunny skies, as detailed by AccuWeather. Tuesday takes after Monday, doubling down on the relative warmth with a high of 56 and an evening low of 49.
Rain is expected to move in after 1 a.m. Tuesday night, with a chance of precipitation at 70%, as reported by the NWS.
