Police in Ithaca have initiated a death investigation after a person was found deceased on Cliff Street around 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The Ithaca Police Department, along with Bangs Ambulance, and the Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s office responded to the 700 block of Cliff Street after 911 received a report of an unresponsive person.
The individual, who was not identified by police, say they were determined to be dead at the scene.
The investigation remains active, but police say the cause of death appears to be from a drug overdose.
