High wind watch for Cayuga and Oswego counties for Wednesday and Thursday

A high wind watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 3:14 a.m. valid from Wednesday 2 p.m. until Thursday 7 a.m. for Cayuga and Oswego counties.

The weather service comments, “West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds could blow down some trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” states the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.”
