A popular fast food restaurant chain says it will begin surge-pricing, using new digital menu boards to change its prices at different times of day due to demand.
Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner said on a recent earnings call that Wendy’s will start testing “a variety of enhanced features on these digital menu boards like dynamic pricing, different offerings in certain parts of the day, AI-enabled menu changes and suggestive selling based on factors such as weather.” Tanner said the tests will begin as early as next year.
