A Geneva man is in custody after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle into Seneca County.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Desmond Reese, 29, from Geneva early on February 23.
Reese faces charges for obstruction and resisting arrest following a vehicle theft in Geneva. The arrest occurred in Waterloo after Reese led law enforcement on a chase that ended in a wooded area.
Reese was spotted by New York State Police driving the stolen vehicle and attempted to evade officers, leading to a foot chase.
Despite physically resisting arrest, Reese was eventually subdued with the use of a taser. The incident resulted in minor injuries to a sheriff’s deputy and a state police officer.
Following his arrest, Reese was handed over to the Geneva Police Department to face additional charges related to the vehicle theft.
