One day after claiming he had no idea what a “NFL beef” was, New York Jets superstar Sauce Gardner trolled Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins and perhaps started his first NFL beef of his career.
Gardner wrote on X that he had just finished working out and was on his way to do his very first shirtless podcast.
The shirtless podcast line, of course, was a shot directed at Dion Dawkins for an interview that he did with Vlad-TV. During his interview with the outlet, Dawkins sat shirtless while describing his hatred for the Jets.
“I hate them. All of them, bro,” Dawkins told Vlad-TV. “When it comes to sports, right, there’s people that play the sport because they love the sport, and then there’s people that play the sport just to try to be cool. I feel like they play the sport to try to be cool. Like those are a bunch of dudes that just want to take pictures on Instagram. That’s whack.”
Gardner took offense to Dawkins’ quote saying that he played football to inspire youth, support his family and because he simply loves the game.
“I play this game because I love it and it takes care of my family,” Gardner wrote on X.” It also gives me a platform to inspire the youth. I have no ‘NFL beef’ with anybody. I didn’t know that was a thing til I just watched this video.”
The rivalry between the Bills and Jets is alive and well and may be getting ramped up in 2024.
