Spring has not yet sprung, but summer flowers already are coming to the mind with the announcement of dates for Buffalo’s 2024 East Side Garden Walk. The free, self-guided garden tour is set for July 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For those seeking to showcase their yards during the event, the sign-up deadline is May 15. To register online, visit EastSideGardenWalk.com.
No entry fees, site visits or judging are required. Gardens do not need to be large or professionally landscaped. Previous entries have been as small as a few square feet and have included gardens in front yards, side yards, back yard, and even upper porches that can be seen from the street. Private residents and businesses within the boundaries of East Side Garden Walk are welcome to participate.
The East Side Garden Walk is organized by Gardens Buffalo Niagara, which aims to create more vibrant and beautiful communities by showcasing local gardens. It also sponsors Garden Walk Buffalo in July, which is billed as America’s largest garden tour; Tours of Open Gardens in July, the Gardens Buffalo Niagara Garden Art Sale in June, Urban Farm Day in August and 15 other regional garden tours.
