Following a brief lockdown at St. John Fisher University on Wednesday evening, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has assured that there is no ongoing danger to students or staff.
The lockdown, which was initiated around 7:30 p.m., came after reports of an individual allegedly entering the School of Pharmacy building with a knife and approaching an employee.
The university has confirmed that the employee involved was able to exit the situation without harm, and the individual in question fled the scene.
Authorities have since recovered the knife involved in the incident. The Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies are currently conducting an investigation into the matter to ensure the safety and security of the campus community.
