The Geneva Solar Village project, previously stalled, is now set to resume under the leadership of Rochester-based Home Leasing.
The company is promising to deliver affordable solar-powered housing to the 212 Carter Road area.
The property, currently owned by Ryan and Tracey Wallace through Sunlight Lane LLC, is expected to be acquired by Home Leasing soon, with town and local officials expressing optimism about the project’s completion and its contribution to addressing housing needs in the area.
Home Leasing plans to construct a 78-unit rental development dubbed Sunlight Lane, featuring three solar-powered apartment buildings aimed at providing affordable workplace housing.
With a total project cost of $27.8 million, Home Leasing has secured a 30-year tax-break package to ensure the development remains 100% affordable. The first of the three buildings is expected to be available for rent later this year, with the completion of the remaining buildings slated for next year.
