The Victor Planning Board is deliberating a proposal to introduce a Chick-fil-A restaurant near the Eastview Mall, a plan that includes two drive-thru lanes and 65 parking spots on a two-acre site close to the mall’s southeast corner.
Presented on Tuesday, the proposal has sparked discussions on the potential impact on local traffic, green space, and existing parking facilities, particularly those owned by Macy’s.
Board members raised several issues regarding the development, including concerns about increased traffic congestion, the reduction of green areas, and the loss of parking spaces, alongside architectural considerations.
These concerns have led to a hesitation to immediately approve the project as presented. Without taking definitive action on the proposal, the Planning Board has suggested exploring alternative locations for the new Chick-fil-A restaurant.
The recommendation aims to address the concerns raised while still considering the addition of popular dining options for the Victor community. Further discussions and evaluations are expected before a final decision is made.
