STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The moment has arrived. Brace yourselves as “Saturday Night Live” readies itself for a new episode tonight.
Actress Sydney Sweeney is set to take the stage alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves.
Sweeney is best known for her roles in the TV shows “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria” as well as the films “Anyone But You” and “Madame Web.” This will be her first time hosting the show, while country singer Musgraves makes her third appearance as a musical guest. Musgraves first appeared on “SNL” in May 2018 and made a second appearance in October 2021.
Additionally, “SNL” announced the lineup for the March 9 show, which will feature Josh Brolin as host and Ariana Grande as musical guest. Grande appeared on “SNL” twice before, once in 2014 and once in 2016. Brolin also has appeared twice on the show, first in 2008 and another time in 2012.
The show — now in its 49th season — returned with new episodes in mid-October. And, in typical “SNL” fashion, the long-running show brought in a very special guest for its season premiere on Oct. 14: Pete Davidson, the born-and-raised Staten Islander who joined “SNL” in 2014 at the ripe age of 20, and bowed out at the end of Season 47. Ice Spice was the musical guest.
Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny pulled double duty on Oct. 21. Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the Oct. 28 episode, alongside musical guest the Foo Fighters.
Nov. 11 saw “Dune” and “Wonka” actor Timothée Chalamet host for his second time. He was joined by musical guest Boygenius, which is comprised of singers Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. On Nov. 18, Jason Momoa returned to “SNL” to host for the second time. Tate McRae made her debut as a musical guest.
