TAMPA, Fla. — With 15 spring trainings already under his belt, Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo can attest to the fact that numbers this time of year mean next to nothing for big-league vets.

The two home runs that he hit in Friday night’s 8-4 win over the Blue Jays won’t give him a head start on his journey to 300 in his career — he needs only five more to reach that milestone — and his starting job at first base is locked up regardless of his Grapefruit League production.
