Whatever your vibe, there’s an Oscars party in NYC for you

The 96th Academy Awards are on Sunday, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Whether you think “Oppenheimer” is on a deserved winning streak, believe the “Barbie” snub was overblown, prefer to watch in silence or want a raucous crowd, New York City has a party to suit you — including if you want to suit up in a tux.

Below are some options for getting your Oscars on, ranging from a terrace party overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge to a low-key bar hangout in the East Village.

Don your tux at the Metrograph

The Metrograph hosts what is perhaps the swankiest Oscars party in town — and the dress code is black-tie optional. Guests can watch the telecast in the downstairs lounge, upstairs commissary, or both auditoriums. The second screen is a quiet theater for viewers who want a laser-focus on the show with no chitchat. (“Theater 2 is quiet theater, shh,” warns the website.) No tickets are required to enter the lobby or theaters, and it’s first-come first-served for a seat. Dinner and drinks at the restaurant upstairs are for members only ($5 per month), with a $100 minimum per person. Free Oscar ballots must be submitted by 7 p.m. for the chance to win up to $500 worth of prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. For more information visit here.

Sip bubbly at Bobby’s Night Out in the East Village

If you don’t want to dress up but still want to enjoy the glamour of Oscars night, head to restaurant Bobby’s Night Out in the East Village from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. People can watch the live event for free, but a $15 ticket gets you mimosas, bellinis and rossini cocktails from the open Champagne cocktail bar that’s available from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to snag a good spot.
