The Buffalo Sabres picked up a point but fell 2-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
Buffalo trailed 1-0 early in the second period but tied the game four minutes later on Victor Olofsson’s fifth of the season. After neither team found the back of the net in the third, Auston Matthews scored the game-winner at 4:20 in OT.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 saves between the pipes. Buffalo went 0-for-2 on the man advantage and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will try to snap a two-game skid on Thursday when they visit the Nashville Predators at 8 p.m.
