Chick-fil-A franchise owner accused of driving 400 miles to sexually abuse teen

A Chick-fil-A franchise owner has been arrested after allegedly driving more than 400 miles to sexually abuse a teenager, according to police in North Carolina.

The Rowan County Sheriffโ€™s Office said they were called to a home in Rowan County, N.C., after receiving reports of a breaking or entering incident. WSB-TV reports the homeโ€™s owner said they found Stacy Lee Austin, 49, of Belmont, Ohio, performing sexual activities with their 15-year-old child.

According to WBNS, Austin allegedly drove from Ohio to the teenโ€™s house after communicating on social media. Detectives said Austin arranged to pick up the teen and allegedly performed sexual activities while inside the house;

Deputies said they found Austinโ€™s underwear in a bathroom trash can along with some of the alleged victimโ€™s clothing.

According to the police report, Austin admitted to the sexual acts when questioned. He also told deputies he was worried about losing his job as owner of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Ohio.

In a statement, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson responded to the allegations against Austin.

โ€œWe have zero tolerance for the type of serious conduct alleged. Stacy Austin currently is an independent franchise owner, but as the investigation and legal process continues, he will not be present in the restaurant,โ€ the spokesperson said.

Austin was charged with statutory sex offense with a child, WSB-TV reports. He is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center with no bond.
