Person rescued from waters off of Staten Island near ferry terminal, sources say

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A person was rescued from the waters off of St. George on Friday afternoon, according to multiple sources.

A person was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton from the vicinity of the St. George Ferry Terminal, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

The person was removed from the water alive, taken back to the St. George terminal and treated by EMS, a source with the U.S. Coast Guard told the Advance/SILive.com.

The person somehow left the Staten Island Ferry and ended up in the water, the Coast Guard source was told.
