Catholic Health will present a panel discussion focusing on the achievements of women in healthcare March 15 in honor of Women’s Month.
The livestream event, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Healthcare” is scheduled to take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Seneca One tower.
WGRZ-TV anchor and reporter Claudine Ewing will serve as moderator for the event, which will feature panelists Dr. LaVonne Ansari, CEO and executive director of Community Health Center of Buffalo; Joyce Markiewicz, president and CEO of Catholic Health; and Dr. Nancy Nielsen, senior associate dean for health policy at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
According to organizers, the panel discussion will explore what needs to be done to ensure equal access to healthcare, and career development opportunities in the health professions. Discussion will also focus on the social determinants of health, creating inclusive career development initiatives and empowering women to lead.
