Jamestown man accused of allowing toddler to consume marijuana

Elijah T. McBride was charged Friday night with endangering the welfare of a child after taking the 1-year-old out of the hospital before the child was treated, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

McBride was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and was being held pending arraignment.

Police said they responded to a call reporting a suspicious situation at the Jamestown residence and through an investigation, determined McBride allowed the 1-year-old to consume marijuana.

McBride then put the child in a dangerous situation by taking him out of UPMC Chautauqua hospital, police said. When he returned about 30 minutes later, McBride was placed into custody.
