Former Staten Island business owner in prison in $860K tax fraud case

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The former owner of a Staten Island locksmith business began serving a prison sentence last month after withholding $860,000 in state sales taxes over a span of more than a decade.

Anthony “Carl” Napolitano, 59, of Pilot Lane in Charleston, pleaded guilty in July in Albany Supreme Court to felony tax fraud and grand larceny in connection with his former business Pop A Lock at 765 Forest Avenue in West Brighton, authorities announced.
