ROSCOE- Almost three years ago Zach Scheitlan went from retail management to making bagels in his home and selling them from his front porch. Now, Scheitlan is poised to open his first brick-and-mortar bagel store in Roscoe within the next few months.
Scheitlan said that he believes Roscoe will be the perfect location for his new business. “Searching for a good bagel was a challenge, you drive 30 minutes in either direction from where I was in Cochecton to some of the local bagel spots and it just wasn’t what I was looking for,” he said.
Scheitlan has never operated a bagel shop before and said that he is both excited and nervous about the future. “The nerves will all go away when we throw open that door and see all of the people who have supported me over three years,” he concluded.
