It’s been a tough start to the week for the New York Yankees as Aaron Judge became the second Yankee to undergo an MRI, joining Gerrit Cole.
Judge revealed Tuesday that he underwent an MRI on his abdominal muscles after experiencing discomfort. The test results came back clean, but won’t resume swinging a bat until later this week.
“I’m pretty sure (I’ll be ready),” Judge said when asked about the March 28 opener in Houston. “I don’t want to speculate or talk about anything that hasn’t come yet. But the most important thing is taking some time now and be back out there soon.”
This comes a day after Cole was sent for an MRI on his pitching elbow. The Yankees will provide an update on his status in the next day or two.
